Hospital Schedule
Every day at BMC begins with a short chapel service from 7am to 7:30am. Doctors begin rounds immediately thereafter. Rounds usually end by 9AM-9:30AM, depending on the number of patients and number of volunteer doctors assisting.
Chaplains have devotions for waiting patients from 9:30-10:00AM, so we usually start clinic around 10:00 AM. Medical assistants start earlier.
Clinic Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (except holidays)
The hospital averages about 500 patients on a regular clinic day. Mondays tend to be much busier since it has been two days since last clinic day. Registration “closes” at 12:00 noon. All patients registered before 12:00 noon will be seen. There is no set closing time.
Once all patients have been seen on clinic day, doctors usually proceed to theater to perform minor procedures on patients that were admitted.
Elective Surgery Days: Tuesday, Thursday
All elective cases are scheduled ahead of time. Emergency cases are done any day, any time as needed.
